The Association of Building Consultants has welcomed Scott Fletcher as its new President and Travis Summerton as its newly-appointed Treasurer following its recent AGM, with Andrew Butler continuing as the Association’s Secretary.

Mr Fletcher replaces outgoing President, Mr Peter Ewen, who still remains an active member of the Association’s Executive Committee.

“It is appropriate to formally acknowledge outgoing President Peter Ewen for his commitment to the Association as an executive committee member and most recently as President, and his efforts to raise the profile and grow membership of the organisation,” Mr Fletcher said.

“As South Australia’s only professional body for independent building consultants, I look forward to furthering the professional development of our members and advocating on issues such as swimming pool safety, building indemnity insurance and licensing issues,” he said.

Mr Fletcher is owner of About The House SA, and offers significant building industry experience. He started his career working part-time for a local contractor whilst completing high school, before moving on to complete a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and working for major contractors across commercial, residential and resource sector projects in South Australia and Western Australia.

Newly-appointed Treasurer, Travis Summerton, also brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He originally joined the family building business - Henderson Building Consultants - in 2010, where he was responsible for drafting working drawings, site supervision and material procurement, estimating take-offs and labor synchronization across domestic and commercial projects.

In early 2015 he established his own building and inspection company; Summerton Building & Inspection. Amongst his many qualifications, Travis has a Building Work Contractors License, Supervisors Registration Building Work License and a Diploma of Building and Construction.
